Loi Krathong with Thai style dresses

If you plan to visit Thailand next month ( November ), it’s a nice trip due to Thailand will cerebrate the Loi Krathong Day. Most area will play the famous song below.

November full moon shines Loi Krathong, Loi Krathong and the water’s high in local river and the klong. Loi Loi Krathong Loi Loi Krathong Loi Krathong is here and everybody’s full of cheer. We’re together at klong. Each one with his krathong. As we push away we pray. We can see a better day. ( repeat 3 times. )

If it’s your first visit to Thailand and don’t understand this Loi Krathong ceremony well. Let me explain in short. Loy Krathong always held on the full moon of the 12th month in the traditional Thai lunar calendar. In your calendar this may falls in November or December. “Loi” means “to float”. “Krathong” is a raft about 6 to 10 inches in diameter. The traditional one made from a section of banana tree and decorated with flowers, incense sticks and candles. Beautiful fireworks and contests always conduct in the festival.

Most of Thai women always wear Thai style dresses to Loi Krathong in this day to reserve Thai culture. You could understand more on the clip below for this festival.
